State Districts
Earlier this year, Governor Evers signed a bill creating new legislative district maps. The maps correct the gerrymanders created in 2011 and 2021 by the GOP-controlled legislature.
This presents us with an opportunity to not only restore meaningful legislative elections, but also create Democratic majorities in the Assembly and the Senate.
This isn’t easy work, but it is DEFINITELY work worth doing.
The map below shows the assembly districts that include portions of Wauwatosa. The most impactful change is that the new 13th assembly district, which includes most of Wauwatosa, now also includes Elm Grove and Brookfield, making it much more challenging for a Democrat to win.
Small portions of Wauwatosa are in newly drawn districts
• 12th (northeast Tosa and northwest Milwaukee)
• 14th (southwest Tosa and West Allis)
• 18th (southeast Tosa and western Milwaukee)
The 5th State Senate District includes the 13th, 14th and 15th districts; much of northern Waukesha County, most of Tosa, and northern West Allis. This will be a very tough district for Democrats to win.
